The Private pilot certificate is the most sought certificate, and the first step toward a career as a professional pilot. It allows you to fly almost anywhere in the United States, both during the day and night, and carry as many passengers as your plane is legally allowed. Cloudy weather has you grounded? Open a whole other world of flying with an Instrument rating (IR). The IR certification allows you to fly in inclement weather that might otherwise keep you on the ground, plus it makes you an all-around safer pilot!
If you already have a Private certificate and want to be financially compensated to fly an aircraft, a Commercial certificate is required.
